19th March 2021

Hello parents, carers and children,

It’s been a while since I’ve written the greeting so let me introduce myself again. I’m Mrs Fox and I teach in year 6 as well as being lead for English and assistant head. My favourite part of these roles is sharing stories so it’s been great to have the children back in school and hear them talking about the books they’ve been reading over lockdown. We are always trying to engage the children with good books and a chat with them reveals some interesting characters that have been discovered in class this half term, from a deadly medieval knight in year 6 to a porcelain rabbit with a taste for adventure in year 4 and a caterpillar with a large appetite in Reception.

For the past few weeks, we have been celebrating World Book Day with 4 weeks of book celebrations. Next week is the final time to take part and your last chance to win.

Competition Week 4 - Sharing books together- showcase the people that make stories magical for you. This could be your grandma on a video call, your brother or sister at dinner time, your parents at the end of the day or even your pet! Send in a photograph of your most special reading time with a loved one. All photographs will become part of our new reading display in the library and four will be chosen to win a book token. Good luck!

Have a great weekend and try and fit in a little reading.
