Welcome to Year 2,
We are super excited to see you in September and can’t wait to start to learn lots of lovely new things together.
Your class teachers will be Mrs Nizamis & Mrs Rodgers
Our class Teaching Assistant is Mrs Akhtar
Each morning you will come in to the classroom through the Year 2 door, one of the teachers will be waiting to greet you…don’t forget to say good morning!
You will start your day with a task, it might be reading, writing or maths.
In Year 2 our first topic will be ‘Moon Zoom’. We will be learning all about space and when people first landed on the moon.
In science we will be looking at animals and their habitats, maybe you could find out about this at national Geographic kids: https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/explore/nature/habitats/
We will also be looking at significant people in history and in our community.
In English we will be reading The Man on the Moon and learning how to Write for different purposes including about fictional personal experiences and fictional narrative
In maths we will be focusing on numbers to 20, including place value, addition and subtraction.
You will have homework each week, including a reading book and spellings. Spelling checks will be on a Friday
Don’t forget to bring your book bag every day!
You will need the correct P.E. kit twice a week for P.E. You will have PE on Wednesdays & Fridays
