Hello everyone!

Many of you already know me. My name is Miss Akers and I am the academy's Pastoral Manager. At St. Clement’s, I work with many children and families, oversee attendance, wellbeing and lots of other areas to make sure children are happy, healthy and safe. One of the ways we teach children to be safe, is through Jigsaw.

Jigsaw is a scheme of work that helps to support the teaching of Personal Social Health Education. This half terms topic is Relationships. This covers a lot of leaning, looking at diverse topics such as families, friendships, pets and animals, and love and loss. A vital part of this 'Puzzle' is about safeguarding and keeping children safe. This links to cyber safety and social networking, as well as attraction and assertiveness. Children will learn how to deal with conflict, their own strengths and self-esteem. They have the chance to explore roles and responsibilities in families, and look at stereotypes.

All Jigsaw lessons are delivered in an age- and stage-appropriate way so that they meet children’s needs. The children enjoy Jigsaw lessons and said they help them feel happy and calm.
